Free GPA Calculator - Calculate Your Grade Point Average

Calculate your high school or college GPA easily with weighted grade calculations.

Formula & Methodology

Your GPA is computed by multiplying each course grade value by its credit hours to get quality points, summing all quality points, and then dividing by total credit hours attempted. For example, an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course contributes 12 quality points. A B (3.0) in a 4-credit course contributes 12 quality points. Summing and dividing by total credits gives the cumulative GPA.

  • GPA = Total Grade Points / Total Credits
  • Grade Points per Course = Grade Value × Credit Hours

Worked Example

Using the GPA Calculator: apply the formula above to your input values. For instance, GPA = Total Grade Points / Total Credits, then Grade Points per Course = Grade Value × Credit Hours. The tool performs each step instantly and shows the result.
